Pre & Post Breast Augmentation Surgery
While breast lifts are often performed at the same time as augmentation, they are also often done in place of implants. While there are no devices inserted, a breast lift is still a surgical procedure and recovery is similar to that of a regular breast augmentation. Read our post-op tips to find out more.

Breast Lifts
Mastopexy
Breast lifts are designed to lessen the degree of breast ptosis (or drooping). The masteopexy is a simple form of breast lift that adjusts the skin volume or connective tissue of the breasts in order to reshape them.
Full breast lift
A full breast lift allows for the best possible results, as surgeons are able to elevate the nipple and redesign the shape of the breast. Three different incisions are made in full breast lifts -- along the inframammary fold under the breast, around the areola and from the areola to the base of the breast. The incision from the areola to the breast base is the hardest to conceal, but -- once faded -- often appears only as a faint shadow.
Modified breast lifts
This procedure is similar to the full breast lift but with fewer incisions. Though a radical reshaping of the breast is difficult with this procedure, but many women prefer less scarring. With the most popular modified lift, known as the Benelli breast lift or concentric mastopexy, incisions are only made around the areola.
Breast feather lift (Aptos® procedure)
The breast feather lift is an alternative to a surgical breast lift. It uses the Aptos® procedure (where biocompatible barbed threads are used to lift the breast with no visible scarring) to help correct moderate droop and asymmetry. With a hypodermic needle, Aptos® threads are inserted under the skin at different angles, leaving minute entry and exit marks that heal quickly. The threads are then activated to lift the excess skin, leaving no scarring as the skin is pulled tighter by the threads underneath.
Body Fat Transfers
Mostly used for breast reconstruction, body fat transfers involve injecting fat cells into the breasts with blunt syringes. The fat is then layered from the pectoral muscle to the top of the breasts to create a natural shape.
